- Décrivez le projet terminé:
31 ultra-modern hives were built by a carpenter from and living in Affem
Boussou. These 31 hives are .ultra-modern. because they are the first in
the area to be well adapted for the extracting machine that will be used to
harvest their honey. These are the finest hives that have been built by
this carpenter who has been improving his hive building technique ever
since this group of villagers launched this project in 2009. The 31 hives
built with FOT funds were quickly bought at the subsidized price of 3,000 F
CFA a piece by villagers who were judged .in-need. as well as .serious and
motivated. about beekeeping by the head beekeeper, the RPCV who served in
Affem Boussou, and Edjeou, another founding member of the project.
All 31 hives were installed by the head beekeeper and are now inhabited by
bees. The first harvest from these hives will take place before the end of
2011. Beekeepers will be encouraged to invest some of their profits, from
the sale of honey, in the construction of additional hives for themselves.
Other beekeepers in this project have grown their number of hives in this
way.
rapportage, etc ?
Fortunately, this project has proceeded very smoothly as it had already
been launched and was working well before the arrival of FOT funds. These
funds were intended to finance the construction of additional hives and
this is now accomplished.
Though we should be able to improve certain aspects of the project, we are
very satisfied with the project's progression and efficiency. We are very
pleased with the ground-swell of interest in beekeeping, among local
farmers and villagers, that has accompanied the growth of this project in
Affem Boussou. Villagers with sufficient means are now constructing their
own hives and this groundswell of grassroots interest is one of the best
indicators that the project is meeting the needs and expectations of villagers.
We appreciate FOT's help and hope that the Friends of Togo are aware of the
how essential their help has been to the success of this beekeeping project.
